MEGA CULTURAL EVENT AT PONNAMPET

Madikeri Dec. 27 Mega cultural event is organized by the Ponnampet Shri Sadguru Sai trust at Ponnampet from next January 5th

The trust president Kolera Zaru Ganapathi has disclosed this in a press conference here. Chief Minister Kumaraswamy, Shri Veerendra Hegde of Shri Kshethra Dharmasthala; Suthur Shri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji,Kalancheri Shri Shanthamallikarjuna Swamiji, Ponnampet Shri Jagadatmandaji of Shri Ramakrishna Ashram,Central Minister Oscar Fernandis,State ministers,film star Prema,Dy.C.M Yediyurappa,Pejavara Shri Vishweshwathirtha Swamiji ,Justice A.S.Bopanna, cricketer Kirmani and other guests are invited . The functions will be conducted on 5th, 6th and 7th of January.

“Sai Sankalpa Jyothi” procession will give commencing movement.Sourabha’s “Ashtalakshmi”dance, Lolaksha’s magic show, the local folk dances, Snake Shyam and Snake Satishs’ snake show and demonstration, the humour show by Bangalore team, dog show and demonstration by fire brigade are the attractions.

The total cost estimated is Rs. 10 lakhs. The amount is being sponsored by various persons and organizations. Chakkera kuttappa, Chiriapanda Raja Nanjappa, K.R.Balakrishna Rai, Kalimada Motaiah, S.S.Thimmaiah, Madhusudan Naik and B.N. Prakash were present in the press conference.

AGITATION WARNED BY FARMERS ASSOCIATION

Madikeri Dec. 27 The Kodagu farmers association has warned serious agitation against the lethargic attitude of the Govt. to meet the demand of providing right over tree for the Kodagu land owners. The meeting organized by the association at Madikeri has resolved to fight against the Govt. policy. No body should go to Bangalore to meet the ministers and to request for the salvation. The ministry itself should come to Kodagu and should hear the problems- the meeting decided. Providing of RTC records to farmers and coffee growers has become delayed and the Govt. should immediately distribute the RTC to the applicants- the meeting resolved. If necessary “Kodagu bandh” will be called to protest-the leaders expressed.

The Jamma land tenure problem will be sorted out through the proper legal move in the court of law-opined A.K.Subbiah, the advocate in the meeting.Z.P.former president J.A.Karumbaiah, Nervanda Umesh and I.R.Durga Prasad and others were present.

CONVENTION CANCELLED DUE TO MEAGER ATTENDANCE

Madikeri Dec.27 A convention of Z.P., Thaluk Panchayath members and V.Panchayath office bearers of Madikeri Thaluk was cancelled due to poor response. The function was organized by the kodagu Agricultural department and the Zilla Panchayath jointly. The convention platform was occupied by the Madikeri M.L.A K.G.Bopaiah,Z.P.vice president B.C.Neelamma, standing committee chairman Raghu Achaiah, Madikeri Thaluk Panchayath president Thalur kishorkumar, . and the Agricultural Assistant Director C.K.Devdas.Surprisingly the audience were in 6 number plus the reporters!

Watching the worst situation the M.L.A was annoyed .He seriously criticized the organizing officers and the department heads for utter negligence on their part. Although the M.L.A lighted the lamp and inaugurated the function he ordered for canceling the meeting He was raised by watching fingure numbered members out of hundreds of members to have been attended from 22 Village Panchayaths in Madikeri thaluk.He alleged the involvement of showing expenditure for the convention and to misuse the amount by the concerned officers.

The officials are not considering the position of public representatives. They take the independent decisions without any consultation with the reperesentatives.They are not giving any proper information about the development works to the general public. We will not tolerate such dictatorial attitude in future-warned the M.L.A. The officers have T.A/D.A and vehicle facilities, but they ignore working for the benefit of villagers and farmers-alleged Bopaiah. After hitting his fist upon the table he announced the cancellation of the convention. The agricultural Assistant Director Krishnaiah then apologized for the poor response.
