UNCLE SHOOTS SOLDIER TO DEATH;Madikeri December 15, 2006 In a bizarre incident a soldier was shot dead by his uncle at Nariandada village on the evening of thirteenth. While one person was killed two others were badly injured in the gun shot attack. According to police, Somanna of Edapala village in the vicinity of nariandada gram Panchayath opened fire at the soldier Aiyappa, his brother Shambu and his wife Rukmini on the evening of thirteenth from a bush. The trio was chasing their cow from grazing land to their house at the time of the incident. The accused first opened fire at Aiyappa and pregnant woman Rukmini. Aiyappa fell dead on the spot while a screaming Rukmini rolled down on the ground. Accused opened fire again at Shambu and fled from the scene with the gun. People who arrived at the spot after hearing gun shot shifted the duo falling on the ground in a pool of blood to Napoklu hospital at first and then to Madikeri hospital Deceased Aiyappa serving in the army since thirteen years had returned only a day before. He had married just five months ago and his wife was not with them at the time of the incident. Shambu was hit on the thigh while his wife Rukmini was hit at face and chest. Her condition is unstable, according to doctors. The crime took place over property dispute, according to police. Superintendent of police Ram Chandra Rao visited the spot. He stated that two teams are formed to nab the accused. CRUEL FATHER GIVEN LIFER;A father who killed his five year old daughter by beating her to the ground was given life imprisonment by the fast track court, Virajpet. A thirty year old Razak reportedly beat his five year old daughter Hasina to death by battering her head on the ground in a cement road by holding her two legs. She breathed her last in a hospital by evening at Mysore. The incident was reported on May 2005. Accused resorted to inhuman killing as retaliation to his anger against his wife. His nine year old son Irshad and wife Khadija were the main witnesses along with fifteen others for the crime. |
