TWO UNDERTRAILS ESCAPE;Two under trails facing inquiry escaped from the clutches of police at Sakaleshpur, yesterday. Danny Moses and Karianda Subash of Kodagu were involved in inter district theft of two wheelers. They were wanted by Kodagu, Hassan, Chikmagalur and Hassan police and were caught last year and were lodged in Madikeri district preson. Kodagu police produced them before Sakleshpur police yesterday and the case was adjourned to afternoon hearing. The duo during lunch break said they want to answer natures call and went near a bush. Pushing the accompanying cops, they reportedly escaped from the place. Search till evening in the forest turned futile and a complaint was lodged with Sakleshpur police. Rs.27 CRORE SOUGHT FOR PEPPER REJUVENATION;The deputy commissioner has sought rupees 27 crore from the government to rejuvenate the perishing Pepper crop in Kodagu. Paying a visit to estates in parts of Kodagu along with agriculture officers, the Deputy Commissioner yesterday said that pepper creepers are perishing in many places due to mysterious desease. They have appealed to give rupees eight hundred per acre for those who have incurred loss due to heavy rainfall. |
