DALITHS TAKE OUT UNIQUE PROCESSION;

District unit of Daliths yesterday took out a unique protest march by rolling on road for about one kilometer.

Dalith leaders reached Deputy commissioners office by rolling on the road from general Thimmaiah circle to Fort.

Protestors demanded BPL cards, installation of statue of Ambedkar in the town, fixing hundred rupees as daily wage to laborers, providing agriculture lands to Daliths and few others.

A memorandum was submitted to Deputy Commissioner Subodh Yadav.

GP SECRETARY ENDS LIFE;

Secvretary of Karike Gram panchayath, Gopal, 52 hung himself to death yesterday at Karike.

Gopal was under suspension, facing corruption charges.

Gopals body was found hanging from a mango tree inside the estate. He leves wife and children.

CENTRE TO REVISE PRICE STABILISTAION STRUCTURE;

The central government will revise the structure of STABILISATION price to Agricultural products to help agriculturists, said cebtral commerce minister Jairam ramesh.

Addressing scribes here yesterday he said that a coffee planter who was receiving rupees on thousand per season will now get upto rupees five thousand.

He also disclosed that a committee is formed to conduct a survey to implement insurance on crops. This was being done to block difference in the prices of Coffee, Tea, Rubber and Pepper. Insurance will come into force from November after the committee subm,its report, he informed.

He also informed that coffee replantation would be taken up in four thousand hectares at Kodagu, Chikmagalore and Hassan. This process will be done with the due support of the planters and same will be applicable to pepper also, he said.

The minister also disclosed that a rupees 4700 crore fund is established to increase plantation crops with the assistance of Banks and planters.

He said that usage of coffee is on the increase within the country and it will reach 1.6 lakh ton in another two years.
