YOUTH COMMITTS SUICIDE;

A youth unable to clear loan committed suicide at Beetikatte near Shanivarsanthe.

According to police, Sunil D Souza, 24, committed suicide by consuming poison on9th. E was fighting for breath after the incident and efforts were made to shift him to Mysore. He died on the way.

Hravy debt in a co operative Bank prompted his death, according to police.

BSNL ANNOUNCES CONCESSION;

The BSNL has announced a bounty for its mobile consumers. According to BSNL ials the consumer can call any two BSNL numbers at paise ten per minuite within Karnataka.

The customers are requested to apply for the facility.

NOW, SHOOT ANIMALS FOR PROTECTION;

The forest officials yesterday informed the residents living around Kutta in Nagarahole National Park range that they can shoot animals for protection.

A people – officials meeting was organized at Kutta and the officials were tackled by the people who are suffering due to tiger and elephant menace. It can be recalled tht the tiger killed a person recently in broad day light, taking the toll to two in one year. People have been life threatened by elephants too and there were deaths due to their attack. Crop loss and house damages have become very common in parts of Kodagu. The meeting under the presidentship of Gudiyangada Nachappa was organized to discuss the issue.

Forest officials from Kodagu and Hunsur took part in the discussion. People spoke about the hardship, fear and loss caused due to wild animal menace. They were not prepared to listen to the vague assurances by officials. People threatened that they will celebrate Independence Day as a black day if the officials fail to declare a solution on the spot. Officials took half an hour time to discuss within themselves and finally DFO Sharma said that people would be allowed to shoot animal within the limits of law supporting protection to life. He announced that there are plans to curb the elephant and tiger menace. He also assured to look into the different problems like solar fencing, trenching etcetra.

Hunsur range ACFO Jagamohan Sharma, ACFO Kalappa and others were present.
