KING COBRA ;A GARLAND TO SNAKE SATISHMadikeri Aug. 6 King cobra is decorated as garland to snake Satish. No fear, no biting. This has happened at Karada village, Virajpet thaluk . The residents of the village feared to move when they came to know about the existence of King Cobra in the area. They informed the snake catching experts Mandepanda Manu and Snake Satish. The villagers confirmed the presence of the King Cobra near a water pond in the village. When hundreds of people watching fearfully Snake Satish captured the snake with the help of a club and tamed it within fraction of a second. The snake will be soon freed in the deep forest area he told. The two other ladies who were also washing the cloths tried to save her life in vain. The deceased had got some fits type disease according to a report. WARDS TO BE EXTENDEDMadikeri Aug. 6 The wards will be extended from 23 to 31 in Madikeri town.The reorganization work should be completed before next October to facilitate the future elections. The Deputy Commissioner Subodh yadav had directed the municipal authorities and staff in this regard. The Govt. has already issued circular through the State Municipal administration to extend the wards. The extension will be done by dividing the other wards and there will not be any additions. The Deputy Commissioner has also instructed the concerned authorities to start the Cleanup City programmes with immediate effect. The govt. has already sanctioned sufficient funds to solid waste management. 6 acres of land has been already acquired to the City municipal Council for disposing off the waste. D.C. has instructed to construct retaining wall to protect the land to exclusively reserve for the purpose. The meeting also resolved to recommend to Govt. to extend the Virajpet town Panchayath seats to 16 from the the present 114.Somwarpet town panchayath will be continued with 11 seats and kushalnagar with 13 seats. |
