GOWDA DENIES DIFFERENCE;

BJP state supreme Sadananda Gowda today denied any difference with JDS or with the Chief minister and said that his letter was sent with the intension of strengthening the bond between two parties. Addressing scribes here today, he said that he has no comments to make about the CMs resignation statement. While BJPs also prepared to face elections, yet there are no such possibilities and the difference could be sorted out across the table, he said. However, resignation statement is CM Kumar Swamys personel opinion and he did not demand any such thing, he said.

His letter to CM was to make him know what the party leaders, workers feel about the coalition administration, and never to demoralize anyone, Gowda remarked.

Referring to the delimitation recommendation, he said that a high level meeting would be held at Bangalore on this 26th to review the situation. He said that de limitation decision about Kodagu should not be considered keeping in mind the population account and only geographical account should be considered. A delegation to Delhi will also leave on May 11th to appeal re consideration, he said.

Mr.gowda was here to accept a felicitation function organized by BJP in his honor.

District in charge minister Ramachandra Gowda addressed the gathering and said that the coalition government is delivering good administration with full understanding. However, he said that BJP will come to power in the next election.

MLAs K.G.Bopaiah, Basavaraju, BJP district president S.G.Medappa, state committee member Dr.Vaman Achar, Dr.M.M./Chengappa and others were present.

Mr.sadananda Gowda was felicitated in a befitting manner. A procession was taken out in the main streets of the town.

MLA SUGGESTS TO FORM MALNAD STATE;

MLA B.A.Jivijaya urged that a MALNAD state be formed to save Malnad zones, which would lose identity due to de limitation of constituencies.

Talking to press during a Gowda convention at Makkandur near here yesterday he recalled that Kodagu once enjoyed 24 MLAs and 24 constituencies. It lost the C state status and became a district with only three constituencies. Now the government is reducing it to two constituency. This is the case with all Malnad zones and all Malnad areas should fight for their existence and to form a separate state, he stressed.

He stated that the district will lose its constituencies further, if they go strictly according to population and it might vanish from the map one day, he cautioned. He pressed the need to form a Malnad state and urged Chikmagalore, Shimoga, Uttara Kannada and Dakshina Kannada districts to join hands and fight apolitically to get a state.

Meanwhile, MLA K.G.Bopaiah has also said that fighting to retain constituency could not be done through speeches and they have to get down to streets. He recalled that Kodagu enjoyed a Parliamentary constituency along with 24 legislative assembly seats.

CRICKET COSTS HIM HIS EYES;

A six-year-old boy Dikshith lost his eye-playing cricket.

Studying in second standard, Dikshith was playing cricket with friends of his age at Arameri village near Virajpet on Friday. They were using stone for a ball. According to parents, a stone hit by a boy planted on one eye and the boy fell crying.

The boy was shifted to madikeri hospital. The doctors expressed helplessness and removed the eyeball that was damaged beyond treatment.

KODAVA SAMAJ AT NAPOKLU

President of Bangalore Kodava Samaj Berera Shambu Aiyanna inaugurated a new Kodava samaj at Napoklu.

The samaj president Manavattira B.Machaiah presided over the function and said the Samj building was constructed at a cost of rupees eighty lakhs.

Mallengada dada belliappa inaugurated the Guest house. Former ministers M.M.Nanaiah and M.C.Nanaiah inaugurated name plaque and function.
