KPSC EXAM HELD;Around 1284 candidates wrote KPSC exam papers at madikeri yesterday. The examination conducted by Karnataka Loka Shikshana Aayoga was held in four centers. The officials said that 85 candidates were absent. MLA FLAYS BANDH AS DETRIMENTAL;MLA Mr.Basavaraju has flayed the bandh observed at Gonicoppal recently and said that people are made to suffer due to the Bandh. Hammering the organizers for calling for Bandh, MLA said that his name was unnecessarily brought in the alleged transfer of officials. Organizers have falsely projected him as anti Kodava, he accused. Mr.Basavarajus reaction came as CoC and other organizations observed one hour bandh at Gonicoppal recently. INTER COLLEGE HOCKEYThe two day inter engineering college hockey being held at Ponnampet will close today. Around 18 teams took part in the inaugural matches yesterday. The league match was organized by Vishveshwaraiah College of technology, Belgaum. The event is held at the grounds of Coorg Institute of technology, Ponnampet and Cauvery college, Gonicoppal. Players from Bangalore, tumkur, belgaum, Hubli, mandya and many other districts are taking part in the match. Around 23 teams are taking part . The matches were inaugurated by Mr.C.K.Poovappa, secretary of the Kodava education institution. Physical director Dr.Bijurke, Coorg hockey Association chairman Mr.Mohan Aiyappa and others were present. SRIMANGALA TENSE;Srimangala near Kutta was tense since yesterday as a police officer allegedly misbehaved with a public. According to reports, a Gram panchayath member mr.Balakrishna was abused by the assistant sub inspector at Srimangala. Large number of people gathered before police station demanding action against the officer. People from neighboring villages have also joined today and staged a strong protest. Police troops were deputed to avoid any untoward incidents. People are demanding that higher officials come and talk to them. MANASA SAROVAR;A psychologist from Speech and hearing institute, Mysore, Dr.G.Jayaram yesterday held a mind boggling slide show of manasa sarovar at madikeri. The doctor explained his experience about the trips he made to Aadi kailas and Manasa Sarovar. Mr.M.S.Shanai, who has also completed the above journies was felicitated in the function. President of the Seem Parishadh mr.Ishwara Bhat and president of the KBV Nidhi mr.Sharath Kumar were present. |
