BJP FLAYS BANDH AS MISLEADING;Virajpet taluk BJP president Mr.Mukonda Bose Devaiah has flayed the Gonicoppal bandh observed by a section as misleading. Machmada Ravindra stated that nobody is trying to transfer officials due to political motive. He stated that the present Deputy Commissioner had arrogantly behaved with the local MLA Mr.H.D.basavaraju and even with the opposition leader Mr.Yediyurappa. Meanwhile the taluk Chamber Of Commerce observed one hour bandh at Gonicoppa yesterday and alleged that officials are being transferred for the simple reason that they are not paying commission to the elected representative. Mr.M.K.Nanajappa and Mr.Prakash, Mandal Pradan Mr.B.D.Mukunda addressed the gathering. District CoC president mr.Girish ganapathy and few others walked out from the meeting as some of the speakers deviated from the subject and went personel in their talks. FAMILY CRICKET FESTIVAL 2006The Ammunichanda family is all set to host Kodava cricket festival at Virajpet Junior college grounds, this year. Announcing this in a press conference at Virajpet, Mr.Ravi Uthappa said that the festival would be held within May 20th to avoid rainfall. He also hinted that Cricket will also be held as a family festival in Kodagu on par with hockey festival. He also said that Mr.Raja Nanjappa is elected as the president of the hockey committee, Dishu Nanjappa as vice president, Mani Machaiah as secretary and Pravin Chengappa as treasurer. NEW KHAZI TO TAKE CHARGE;The district Jamayath Ul ulama will have a new president from this 26th, a press release said. Mr.Allama Pookalam Abdul Musaliyar would take charge as the president in a function to be held at Siddapur. Meanwhile, a fraction of the Jamaiyath, led by president Mohamud sakafi said in a press conference that Abdul Rehaman Al Bukari is continuing as Khazi and there is no necessity to choose a new leader. Both the factions are claiming that they have majority support from their community leaders and members. MISTY HILLS DONATES BOOKS;Rotary Misty Hills, Madikeri donated books and pens to inmates of Balbavan in a simple function. Child specialist Dr.Navin addressed the children and gave simple health tips and stress management. Calling upon the society to bring up children in a stress free atmosphere, he regretted that the law supporting the rights of children which is vibrant in western countries is not so in India. He emphasized the need of free mind and meditation for the growth of brain. Addressing the gathering, Misty Hills president Mr.B.G.Anantha shayana called upon the children to study the life stories of Abraham Lincon, Dr.Abdul Kalam who made it to the top inspite of poverty and lack of facilities. Rotarian Dr.Anil Chengappa and Ineer wheel president mrs.Bindu distributed books. |
