GANAPA PICTURES ATTRACT AUDIENCE;

Over thirty drawings of Lord Ganapathy are exhibited at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan to mark the eve of ganesha Chaturti.

President of Vishwa Hindu parishadh, mr.K.S.Devaiah inaugurated the five day show.

Pictures were drawn using water and oil paints by the members of Chitra Kala Parishadh.

Meanwhile nine coluorfully decorated mantaps of Lord Ganapathy were taken out in procession at madikeri yesterday and the idols were immersed in rivers.

HYDEL PROJECT TO GO AHEAD WITH PROTEST;

Bhumi pooja was conducted for the mini hydel project to be taken off at Abbi falls at Madikeri yesterday.

The members of Cauvery sene, led by Mr.Ravi Chengappa staged a protest before the Deputy Commissioner’s office and demanded cancellation of the project.

Speaking to media, the DC Mr.Subodh Yadav told that he was unaware of the pooja and he had instructed the contractors to start the project only after taking to confidence the residents. He assured to look into the matter.

Cauvery Sene and majority of the residents of Karnangeri and Galibeedu have been opposing the project since years. However recent clash between Cauvery Sene and BJP prompted BJP to openly support the project. Earlier the same party was opposing the project.

PRIVATISATION OPPOSED;

Residents of cluster of villages around Sampaje staged a protest before the Deputy Commissioners office and flayed the decision of privatizing the Hobli hospital.

The protestors stated that the hospital opened during 1947 on the eve of National Independence was serving people. Privatizing it from the month of June this year has caused drawback and poor people are denied of free and better services.

DCC president Mrs.Veena Achaiah also spoke and said that privatizing a hospital without bringing it to the notice of public is wrong. She urged the concerned departments to re think about it and reverses the order.

The protestors shouted at the District Health Officer Mr.Jagannath as he came to the spot. They did not listen to his assurance to look into the matter. Even CEO Mr.Sundar Naik presence did not yield any result. The protestors started singing Bhakjans. Counches were used to drag attention of the public who started to gather. Protest was with drawn only after the DC arrived to receive their memorandum. He assured the villagers to provide justice.

BAL THAKRE TO TOUR KARNATAKA;

The state Shivsena leader Mr.Pramodh Muthalik told here that the national president of his party, Mr.Bal Thakre will visit Karnataka in the month of November.

Addressing scribes here, he said that over five lakh Shiv sena workers from all over will take part in the huge rally being organized at Hubli during his visit. He said that the aims of the party would be declared during the above occasion.

Mr.Muthalik announced that Shivsena will contest election from all constituencies in future. He alleged that the leaders with Hindu tag who rose to a height with the assurance to build Ram Mandir did nothing and only enjoyed power. However, he refused to say that he has detached from hindu organizations. He said that he still has links with RSS and other organization. “ I only disrobed my responsibilities, not the link”, he said.
