CAPTIVITY ISSUE TAKES A NEW TURN; FAKE NOTE RACKET SENSED; THREE MORE ARRESTED;The illegal detention of two brothers by a gang at Virajpet has taken a new turn with three more arrests yesterday. The police inspector Mr.Gajendra Prasad told that the two brothers Munna and Wasim of Bihar were kidnapped and kept in captivity by the residents of Virajpet, Idris, Kabir, tanvir, Ibrahim and Sahira in a illegal fake note scandal. Munna and Wasim had taken rupees six lakhs from the accused with a promise to return it three fold, a year back. They brought a suitcase with a condition that it will be handed over to the accused at Bangalore and it should not be opened at the spot. The brothers once returned with the suit case they brought to Bangalore as the accused tried to open it. Disappointed, the accused made a trip to Bihar again and promised the brothers that they will not open the suit case. Hence they returned with the suitcase and opened it at Virajpet. To their shock they found only cloths suffed in it! Somehow they managed to catch the brothers andstarted blackmailing them to pay the due. Four more persons, Naushad, Bablu, Aravind and Mulla from Bihar were also involved in the racket. They returned rupees 2.75 lakh to the Virajpet gang and lodged a complaint with the police stating that brothers were kidnapped by a gang. Bihar police arrived at Virajpet and released Munna and Wasim kept in captivity since eight months. Yesterday police arrested Naushad, bablu, Arvind and Mulla at Bangalore and are looking for one more Liakath Ali of Virajpet. The Bihar gang had duped the Virajpet gang by producing actual notes as fake to gain trust. These were satisfied as the notes raised no suspicion. |
