SON KILLED MOTHER

An incident of a son killing his own mother has been reported. The accused Kokkalemada Nanaiah is absconding. Poovamma was killed by her son Nanaiah. Nanaiah and his brother Vasu were quarreling in their house. This had became the order of the day. Poovamma interfered to stop the quarrel. The enraged Nanaiah took a wooden club and assaulted Poovamma who died on the spot. Vasu complained to the Police.

DRIVER DIES WHILE AT THE WHEEL, PASSENGERS SURVIVE

The driver who was on duty carrying many passengers in the bus surprisingly died while driving. Passengers miraculously survived. Velayudha (51) of Madapur was driving the private bus “Bhagandeshewara from Kundalli to Somwarpet. Suddenly, near Yedoor village the bus started moving in a zig-zag manner. However, the driver managed to stop the bus. When the Conductor and the passengers curiously approached the driver, they were astonished to see him lying dead on the steering wheel.

DASARA COMMITTEE CONSTITUTED

Although the Last year orgonisers called the Madikeri Dasara Committee meeting in a delayed date, the new Dasara Committee has been formed now. The Committee office bearers showed their interest to celebrate the historical Dasara in a grand manner this year also.

Already a delegation led by the Kodagu District incharge minister Alangur Shrinvas, the Kodagu District Congress President veena Achaiah, Ex. Ministers T.John and Suma Vasanth, Congress district secretary V.P.Suresh, Gonikoppal Panchayath president B.D.Mukund and the member B.N.Prakash met the Chief Minister Dharam Singh and briefed them about the festival. The chief minister had assured them of releasing Rs. 10 lakh to Madikeri Dasara like last year’s decision. He had also assured of releasing Rs. 3, lakh to Gonikoppal Dasara which is also been celebrated in an attractive manner.

This year Eashwar Kumar , has been elected as the working president of Madikeri Dasara committee. The Councilor H.M.Nanda Kumar, Udayakuar,and B.S.Suresh have been elected as the Vice Presidents; Monthi Ganesh as the general secretary and S.C.Subramani as treasurer.
