KERALA POLICE ARRESTED RAPE ACCUSEDKerala Police raided “Sheini” hotel at Somwarpet town, Kodagu and arrested hotel employee Velli Panikkar (45).The person was wanted in a rape case. The incident was reported during 2002. He had raped his relative woman and fearing the disclosure he had killed her according to the charges he is facing now. The Kerala police have succeeded in arresting the accused after a long gap of 3 years of the incident. ATTACK ON A JOURNALIST CONDEMNEDAttack on a journalist is condemned by the J.D.S youth wing. Kullachanda Bopanna of Gonikoppal had attacked Shridhar Nellithaya, the news editor of Coorg Channel, Gonikoppal. Police have registered a case under Section.323 and 307 and are searching for the absconded accused. According to police the accused took revenge for a new relayed in the channel against his misdeeds in a contract work pertain to maintenance of sports hostel. The Zilla Panchayth had entrusted work to him. The Kodagu District Chamber of Commerce has also condemned the attack. Shridhar Nellithaya is also the director of Kodagu district Chamber of commerce and he is under treatment in the district hospital, Madikeri. TIGER MENACE AT NALADI VILLAGEThe Naladi villagers near here have complained of tiger menace in the village area. The tiger had killed three cows belongs to Aiyaneravanda Viju Uthaiah.The tiger had also injured the cows belongs to Kudiyara Raja and Allaranda Nanaiah. The villagers have complained to the forest department to grab the tiger and protect them. The Village Panchayath has demanded the compensation to the affected persons immediately from the district administration. |
