PREPARATIONSOVER FOR Z.P.ELECTIONS

Madikeri Oct. 30 Preparations are over for the coming Zilla Panchayath elections in kodagu district. Subodh Yadav, the Kodagu Deputy Commissioner has disclosed this in a press conference here.

29 Z.P. constituencies and 49 Thaluk Panchayath constituencies needs representation through voting.3,47,409 voters are eligible to franchise their vote. Out of this 1,74,100 are men and 1,73,210 are women.425 polling booths will be arranged in the district. One presiding officer and two Assistant poling officers each will be deputed each three thaluks- Deputy Commissioner explained.

Three observers will be deputed for three thaluks to manage the code of ethics and to prepare the actual report. The Assistant commissioner will be incharge of overall supervision who will be considered as the nodel officer 162 sensitive and 84 extra sensitive polling booths will be provided towards special security aerrangements.18 seats comes under general category and 11 seats are reserved for women out of 29 Z.P.Constituencies. In the thaluk Panchayath elections 5 general and 6 women seats at Madikeri thaluk, 12 general and 7 women reservations at virajpet thaluk and 12 general and 7 women reservations in VSomwarpet thaluk are identified- Subodh yadav informed.

The nominations will commence from Nov. 23rd. The lst date will be Nov.30thb .Dec. 1st is the day of verification of nominations, Dec. 3d is the last day for withdrawal. Dec. 19th is the polling day. GOLD CHEATS ARESTED.

Madikeri Oct. 30 Tow persons, native of West Bengal who were cheating the people through the pretext of polishing the gold ornaments were arrested. Santosh kumar and Vinod kumar were moving in Bhagamandala and Cherambane villages. They were visiting the residential areas. With their polite approach they were convincing the resident ladies about the clean polishing and getting s[special shining of their ornaments, Believing them the housewives giving their ornaments and getting them polish.

With the strong clue of cheating the ladies Madikeri Rural Police S.I Sadashivsaiah,with the help of his assistants arrested the accused. The police investigation revealed the fact that the accused were sharp enough to use some chemicals during polishing. The polished water was being dropped in a vessel. The chemical was so powerful and it was converting the outer portion of the golden ornaments into liquid form. When the accused were touching some other chemicals the ornaments were again becoming solid. However the dropped portion of the gold in the liquid form was used by the accused, which is valuable as it is the particles of the gold itself. police ared furthere invstigatingb..

RARE CORAL SNAKE CAPTURED

Madikeri oct. 30. It can be read in books, the presence of coral snakes in India. However there is no photos of such a snake taken by any experts so for. But, now the Snake satish an expert had captured such Coral Snake which is available for the photo also.

The rare coral snake was found in the surrounding places of “Cops” private school, Gonikoppal which had attracted Snake Satish to capture it. He is least bothered about the danger as he had captured several poisonous snake since so many years If .

the Coral snake bites , it will completely affect the whole nervous system of the person. When, the enemy comes in the opposite direction the coral snake bends and lie in a round shape with the outer showing fierce colour. No medicine is found for its poisons biting so for. Usually it lives in the western ghat region.

Snake satish will carry about 60 snakes , he had capturrd and will leave them freely in Thithimathi forest area soon.He intends to give this peculiar snake and also another jumping snake to ,Pilikola, snake park at Mangalore
