THE WINNER GIRLS TEAM THE WINNER BODY TEAM SINKING GOVT.WORKSHOPMadikeri Oct. 23 The Central Govt. workshop at Madikeri is sinking. The 14 workers are shaking. The number of workers is reduced from 44 due to uncertainty. The belief of job security in Govt. firms has become false here. It is the obligation for all the Govt. departments to repair their vehicles in the Govt. workshop only. However, the latest technology vehicles could not be repaired here due to he lack of advanced mechanism. Even, the repair charges compared to private vehicle care centres are double here. All these loopholes, the mismanagements, the negligence of the Govt. have led to the burial of this center. Some of the machineries like lathe, welding, turning, tinkering, painting and servicing are affected and loosing their working nature and the machine are corroded. The total salary drawn by the workers annually reaches Rs. 8 lakh. But the last year’s turnover itself was Rs. 7.4 lakh only. The workshop is situated at Gandhi maidan , Madikeri. The Joint Director, District Industries center situated at industrtial estate, Madikeri, does the supervision. No direct supervision is found. The district industries center itself is facing shortage of employees. The Govt further neglects Kodagu bei ng the industrially backward district. Even the Assistant director post is vacant here. Without the infrastructural facilities , the department is least bothered about running the workshop. The death is nearing and the workshop is ready for cremation! PHOTO: 3.VIEW OF THE WORKSHOP |
