FOREST TRESPASSERS SENTENCED;Madikeri October 22, 2005 The JMFC court has sentenced four accused to under go simple imprisonment for one year and to pay a fine of rupees 2.5 thousand each for trespassing into forest. Kalachanda Ravi Thammaiah, B.Kariappa, K.Cariappa and Bottolanda Nanda were charged with tress passing into Pushpagiri reserve forest in Mandalpatti near Madikeri on 26.1.05. They were accused of threatening to kill two forest guards near the forest guesthouse. The court has also directed to undergo imprisonment for seven more months if the accused fail to pay the fine amount. HEALTH CHEKUP CAMP FOR TRIBES;Deputy commissioner Subodh Yadav has said that a free health check up camp is being organized for the tribes living in Kutta and Thithimathi areas. Addressing scribes, he said that camp is going be held at Kutta on this 25th and at Thithimathi on 30th. Subodh Yadav said that the camp would be held at a cost of rupees 3.5 lakh and over 2000 tribes would be benefited by it. The camp includes scanning and other sophisticated tests and treatments. Expert doctors would be pressed to service and patients would be directed to other hospitals for higher treatments on priority. IGP VISITS KODAGU;Inspector General of Police, southern range, Harshavardan Raju visited Kodagu yesterday. He visited Kodagu for the first time after taking charge and discussed about the law and order situations in Kodagu. PROHIBITORY ORDER;Prohibitory orders are imposed around examinination centres from 24th to 28th to avoid any untoward incidents. A communique from the deputy commissioners office said that prohibitory order will be in power around examination centres all over kodagu. Examinations would be held for ded/ tch and ppt during the above dates. Xerox shops around these centres are also advised to remain closed. |
