CYCLE EXPEDITION FLAGGED OFF;

Maj Gen K.P.Nanjappa today flagged off the interstate cycle expedition by Madras Sappers, from Madras Engineering Group from the NCC office premises here.

Celebrating their glorious 225th anniversary, a cycle expedition of the Madras sappers comprising 22 members landed in town yesterday. According to their group leader Lft A.C. Dutta, the members belong to the 4, 13, 16 and 18 Engr Regt.

The rally commenced from cannanore on 10th October and will cover four southern states. It shall end in Bangalore on November 11 at the Madras Engineering group and centre. The team covers an approximate 1300 kilometers in its month long trip.

The aim of the rally is to visit ex sapper officers and troops and address their grievances, if any.

NCC Commanding Officer Lft.Col P.A.Aiyar , Lft Col P.S.Nanaiah and others were present.
