YOUTH KILLED IN ACCIDENT;

A youth was killed on the spot and another injured as the bike they were raiding went under a bus.

A youth, Hoovanna was killed as the bike he was in went under a KSRTC bus at Ramanalli near Shanivarsanthe yesterday. His friend, a final year B.A. student, Vinay was injured badly and was shifted to a hospital at Hassan. He has broken his waist.

Shanivarsanthe police arrested the bus driver and seized the vehicle.

INTER DISTRICT POACHERS HELD;

District forest department has arrested three persons involved in poaching and stealing ivory.

According to RFO Nagaraj of Kushalnagar, the three accused Ramesh, kumar and Shafi were arrested attempting to remove ivory by killing elephants. They were operating inside Kodagu and Mysore forests.

Large quantity of ivory was recovered. Accused were sent to judicial custody after the arrest.
