RAVI MURDER ACCUSED SURRENDER?Rumour is ripe that Kunjanda Ravis murders accused are arrested. But the police officers denied any arrests. But they said that they have taken certain persons for enquiry. Among the many persons facing enquiry are one Pawan and Girish of Virajpet. Police have taken a blue Maruthi van allegedly used by the accused to shoot and escape. The deceased Ravi Chengappa inside a hospital ward allegedly beat Pawan and Ravi a month ago. The duo had gone to the hospital to see their friends who were also beaten by Ravis men. A dispute had risen between Ravi and another bus people as the bus owned by Ravi used to leave the bus stand late, disturbing the business of others. Since police were the silent spectators, the duo challenged Ravi and took an owe to finish him in twenty days, according to sources. Ravi was being followed by the killers since three days and succeeded in killing him on 21st evening. An eyewitness who was standing beside Ravi Chengappa during the incident explains the incident thus; A Maruthi van drove towards them in the main road. They were standing by the side of the road in front of a building. Someone from the van threw milk packets from the van. The group of Ravi was watching the spilled milk and a gun shot was fired probably from top of the same building. The Maruthi van zoomed away as Ravi was collapsing. The crowd around him was looking at the van and prepared to shift Ravis body. Thgey were under the impression that the killers escaped in the Van. But the theory of killing from above the building arises as the gun shot entered Ravis body from the top of the head and came out from the cheeks region. However, police have been enquiring many suspects, including Ravis own men. According to police, Ravi was highly short tempered and would behave strangely at times. He would simply hit his own men, give them money and send them for treatment with money. He would shoot at dogs and in the air without any provocation. At the same time he would also throw money in the form of donation to whoever approached him. Ravi Chengappa faces more than a dozen case in Kodagu, Hunsur, Mysore and other places. The cases include torture, attempt to murder, dacoity and disturbing the peace.
