TUSKAR TROUNCES A COE BOY;

A Tamilanadu based worker grazing cattle inside the forest was trounced to death by a tusker at Periyapatna.

According to police, Kumara Swamy, 60 met with a gory death inside the reserve forest in Kodagu Mysore border on 21st as a tusker attacked him. Trampling him to death, the tusker tore his body with its ivory in anger. His accomplice B.C.Thimmaiah escaped from the scene, as the tusker was immersed in torturing Kumar swamy to death.

The pachyderm stayed with the body for a long time and did not allow the group of people who went there to see the condition of Kumarswamy.

Forest officials visited the spot and assured compensation to the family of the deceased.

WOMAN DIES OF BURNS;

A house wife suffering from burn injuries died in a hospital at Mysore yesterday.

Her husband Puttaraju had allegedly poured kerocene and tried to set ablaze his wife Vinoda on this 18th.

She was shifted to Mysore with severe burn injuries. She breathed her last yesterday

Police have registered a case and are looking for Puttaraju who is now absconding.

KODAVA Samj sits on Dharna;

Members of the Kodava Samaj Bangalore have sat on dharna in front of the mahatma Gandhi statue at Bangalore today.

They are demanding cancellation of any hydel projects in the districts, including the one commissioned at Abbi falls. Convener of the Cauvery sene, Ravi Chengappa told here that his members are also taking part in the dharna.

Meanwhile, Ravi Chengappa and friends are sitting in protest before the deputy Commissioners office protesting against the project. Cauvery Sene had organized a rally and invited environmentalist Bahuguna to address the gathering recently. MLC Arun Machaih had taken a vow in the function not to allow any hydel projects in the district till his last breath. Incidentally he has issued a statement along with the minister Alangur Srinivas that they will bring pressure on the government to stop the project.
