DOCTOR REMOVES 200 GM STONE;

Dr.Kishore Kumtakar, a gynecologist at Government hospital here has removed a 200 gram stone from the bladder of a pregnant in a risky operation and saved the life of a baby, yesterday here at the hospital.

Hailing from a village a 26-year-old Pushpa was brought to hospiotal with labour pain. However, the baby’s entry was being blocked causing tension. An extra revealed the presence of a stone in the urine bladder. The doctor conducted caesarian to remove the baby successfully and took to the second surgery. He stated that it is rare to find a 200-gram stone inside the bladder and he could succeed in removing it.

Dr Kishore Kumtakar has earned a name in the district by conducting an average three major surgeries each day.

BLACK FLAG DHARNA IN FORT;

While the district administration is was busy, celebrating Rajyotsav in the Fort here, two organizations staged protest in the same premises calling it a black day.

Led by the secretary general N.U.Nachappa, Codava national Council members sat in a dharna and demanded constitutional guarantee,recognition of Kodava language etc.

Meanwhile, K.Ravi Thammaiah of Pashchima Ghatta Mula Nivasigala Sanga with his supporters held black flags and demanded basic amenities to Kodagu. He stated that Kodagu still has many villages deprived of amenities. He also said that forest department is misusing its power to punish the innocents.

DOWRY DEATH;

A 23-year-old housewife Pramila committed suicide yesterday, unable to withstand the dowry harassment.

Pramila, a native of Periyapatna was married to Boikeri near Virajpet. According to police, she hung herself as husband Jagdish and mother in law Nagamma were harassing her for dowry. Pramila hung herself in her house at Boikeri on 30th. Police have registered a case.

SCHOOL GIRL MOLESTED;

Virajpet police have registered a case against two persons on charge of raping a minor schoolgirl.

One Ganesh and Surf allegedly took the girl out in a jeep and Surf is said to have raped the girl.

Police are looking for the accused who are absconding. The girl is hospitalized.

LAD FROM KODAGU DIES IN BLAST;

Yashwanth Bojappa, former photographer of The Week and a businessperson from Delhi has died in the recent Bomb blast.

Yashwant hailed from Harangi near Kushalnagar and had settled down in Delhi. He had opened a advertising agency and was thriving in business. His father Bojappa received the shocking news that his son died in the chain bomb blast rocking Delhi last week. Yashwanth was caught in the attack occurred at Sarojininagar market. Though his damaged bike was found out, his body is yet to be identified. According to Delhi police, his body was split in the blast.

LOVE YOUR LANGUAGE;

The district in charge minister Alangur Srinivas today called upon the people to develop love towards Kannada and feel proud of it.

Hoisting the flag at Madikeri on Rajyotsava, the minister said that the government has instructed all the departments, including the court to implement Kannada in their dealings and correspondences. People from different fields were honoured on the occasion.

MLA K.G.Bopaiah, Deputy Commissioner Subodh yadav, Superintendent of police Devjyothi ray, Chief executive officer Sundar naik, tahasildar Tulsi, AC incharge Shakuntala and others were present.
