POLICE COMB BORDER FOR NAXALITES;

Kodagu police are put on high alert and are keeping vigil on the border areas to block entry of Naxalites.

Working in line with the state police who are trying to capture Naxalites, extra vigil is being taken to identify any unusual activities in the border areas and especially so in the western ghats.

Villagers are briefed not to entertain any strangers in villages and inform police about any suspicious movements.

The police action comes after the Inspector General of police Mr.Kempaiah held a crime meet at Madikeri, last week.

SIX FROM KODAGU TO VISIT DARIEN;

Mercara Darien friendship association is sending six people to Connecticut to strengthen the friendship between Darien and Madikeri.

President of the Darien’s Club Mr.K.P.Uthappa told here that Kodanda Pat, Sheila Appaiah, Konganda Ramesh, Cauvery Ramesh, Ajith and Kuppanda Cauvery Madaiah would be visiting the Darien city on this June 8th.

Mr.Uthappa and secretary Dr.Anil Chengappa explained that the team is being sent as ambassadors of peace and friendship. Friendship between the two towns is fifty year old, they said.
