RINK HOPCKEY GROUND INAUGURATED;

Former minister Mr.M.C.nanaiah yesterday inaugurated the Rink hockey ground at Madikeri.

Inaugurating the ground, Mr.M.C.nanaiah regretted that Kodagu is the only district without a stadium. He lambasted the stadium committee, which is in existence, doing nothing and cajoled that the committee be burnt.

Regretting that the dream of Astro turf to Madikeri has not realized since ten years, Nanaiah suggested that a delegation meets the central ministers to put more pressure.

Presiding over the meeting MLA Mr.K.G.Bopaiah said that the bureaucrats sitting in Vidhana Soudha are under wrong impression that people of Kodagu are rich and they need no facilities to be done through the government.

He also said that MP Mr.Sadananda Gowda has received a letter from SAI confirming the sanction of Astro turf.

Former chairperson of ZP, Mrs.Veena Achaiah inaugurated play between the teams of SAI and Mann’s compound. CMC members Mr.Ramesh and Chummi Devaiah welcomed and proposed vote of thanks. Mr.Ravoof compered the programme.

PROTEST AGAINST DOCTORS NEGLIGENCE;

Villagers held a strong protest before the government hospital at Shanivarsanthe till late night yesterday along with a dead body.

The protestors alleged negligence by a doctor. They said that One Lingaraju was bitten by a dog on this fifteenth and was treated by the local doctor. Inspite of the treatment the condition of the patient turned worst and he had to be shifted to Mysore for treatment. Since he died at Mysore yesterday, the relatives and villagers returned with the body. The protest continued seeking compensation and suspension of the doctor. The body was shifted after the arrival of the district health officer. He assured that the compensation amount be recovered from the doctor if he is found guilty. The villagers stated that the hospital has a shortage of anti rabbies injection and the doctors are cheating the patients with duplicates.

KUWSB SANCTIONS 55 LAKH FOR DRINKING WATER;

The chairperson of the Karnataka Urban water supply and Drainage board chairperson Mrs.K.P.Chandrakala has disclosed that the board has sanctioned rupees 55 lakh to take up Vanachalu project at madikeri to quench the thirst of Madikerians.

A team of officials. CMC members and office bearers of the CoC yesterday inspected the spot and surveyed the land.

GUN TOTTING WOMEN?

Look at the attached picture. It looks like as though they are being trained to use the gun! This might even panik the government which might fear about the genesis of another terrorist organization!

But the fact remains different. It was a scene from function of the 60th year celebration of Kote Mahila Sangha at Madikeri. Mrs.Meenakshi Poonacha is assisting Mrs.Kusuma to shoot the gun to mark the inauguration of the anniversary.
