FATHER BEATS DAUGHTER TO DEATH;

A father at Virajpet inhumanly killed a four-year-old baby girl yesterday.

One Razak of Virajpet entered into a brawl with his wife. Inorder to appease his anger, razak lifted his own daughter by legs and beat her on the floor, three times. A profusely bleeding baby was shifted to Mysore in vain. The baby Hafiza Bhanu breathed her last in the hospital at night.

The relatives complain that Razak always used to torture his wife Kathija. The couples only son had died of snake bite, last year.

Police arrested the culprit and remanded him to judicial custody.

ARJUN, LEN TO MALASIA;

Arjun halappa and Len Aiyappa from Kodagu will visit play hockey in Malasia.

The two from kodagu are selected to play international hockey, which will be held between May 26 and June 10.

They will leave India on this 24th.

DAMBEKODI LIFTS CRICKET CUP;

The Dambekodi family team beat Oorubailu team to establish supremacy in the Kurunji cup Cricket played between 160 teams.

Educationist Mr.Kurunji Venkataramana Gowda distributed the cup and the trophy to the winning team yesterday after dusk.Dr. Kurunji Vidya Shankar, police officer Mr.Kunchadka Mohan and others were present and distributed prizes.

The discipline committee debarred Baladi family team from playing in the family cricket for future five years. The Baladi family team resorted to fisticuffs yesterday spoiling the colorful mood of closing the thirteen-day cricket.

CENTENARARIAN FELICITATED;

Centenararian Mr.M.N.Gundu Rao was felicitated by the old students association of Central high school, Madikeri.

The association president Mr.J.A.karumbaiah compered the programme. Mr.K.A.Somanna felicitated him withy a shawl. Mr.Kashipathi,, P.R.Srinivas and others spoke on the occasion. Mr.Gundurao threw the audience spell bound through his speech with immaculate memories.
