YOUTH ELECTROCUTED;

A youth tying to save his Pig was electrocuted yesterday night at Nanjarayapatna.

Jagadish, 25, working at Mubai had come to his native place. He heard the wailing of a pig around 11 P.M at the back yard. The pig was shouting as a live wire had fallen over it. Jagadish rushe to the yard in a drowzy state and picked the live wire to set the animal free. The Pig ran from the sight. But Jagadish fell dead on the spot. His mother who tried to rescue her son was also injured a little.

STREE SHAKTHI TO PROTEST KILLING;

Sree shakthi and other organisations related to women are holding a huge protest march at T.Shettigeri on this sixteenth.

The organisations are protesting the death of a young housewife Shobha on this 4th. Shobha was shot dead by her own father in law allegedly on dowry matters. She was a three-month pregnant at the time of the death and had a four year old son.

The protestors will take a walk from T.Shettigeri to Srimangala and urge the district administration to strengthen law and order situation in Kodagu and protect women.

OFFICIALS INSPECT RESERVOIR SPOT OF KERALA;

The assistant Commissioner Mr.Nagaraj and team inspected the spot of a Dam which will come up at Kerala border.

The members of Kaveri Sene had alleged that water Dam being constructed at Kodagu _ Kerala border would hamper the landscape and environment of Kodagu.

They had complained to the district in charge minister Mr.Srinivas during his recent visit and informed that the dam is being constructed for a Hydel project and the Kerala energy minister had already laid foundation store for the project to take off.

It can be recalled that the Sena members had opposed the move to launch a similar project in Kodagu using the same river, Barapole from this side of the border.

Assistant Commissioner will present a report to the government about his finding.
