DOWRY DEATH; THREE ARRESTED;

Shanivarsanthe police have arrested three persons in connection with a dowry death and sent them to judicial custody for fifteen days.

According to police, the arrest was made after the mother of the victim lodged a complaint about harassment meted to her daughter Savitry.

Savitry committed suicide few days ago by consuming excessive tablets, according to the first complaint filed by her husband Krishnamurthy. She had reportedly kept a letter stating that nobody is responsible for her death. However, receiving the second complaint husband Krishnamurthy, inlaws Somshekar and Nagamma were also arrested.

MINISTERS TO ATTEND VOKKALIGAS CULTURAL SHOW;

Three ministers from the state will attend a cultural show being organized at Somwarpet on this 8th.

President of the Vokkaligara Sangha, Mr.A.R.Muthanna stated that PWD minister Mr.H.D.Revanna will inaugurate the show.District incharge minister mr.Srinivas will inaugurate the branch office,Agriculture minister Mr.Srinivas Gowda will release the souvenir , MP Mr.Sadananda Gowda will distribute prizes.

State leaders and community heads will gather in the show, Mr.Muthanna said.

KODAGU BAGS 19 MEDALS IN SKATING;

Kodagu lads have brought 19 medals in the recently held National speed skating championship at Pune.

Addressing the scribes, president of the roller skating association Mr.Jeevan Chinnappa said that among the 22 students taking part in the campionship at Pune, 12 have come out with bright results and returned with 19 medals. Around 375 particip[ants from 19 states have taken part in the championship. The medals include gold, silver and bronze.
