NOTED CRIMINAL ARRESTED;Hunsur – Kodagu police arrested a noted criminal operating in different district borders. 62-year-old Jinga was arrested from his house at Madikeri, yesterday. Jinga was arrested wanted in a sandalwood smuggling case at Hunsur. He was involved in sandal wood smuggling, car and bike theft, assault and other cases. Convicted several times on different cases, he was ordered to stay away from Kodagu district for few years. However, he started inter border smuggling of sandalwood and other trees and was booked by other district police. He was produced to a court at Mysore and was sent to Mysore jail. MLC ISITS GOERNMENT OFFICES;MLC Mr.Arun Machaiah paid surprise visits to the government offices at Virajpet yesterday. Mr.Machaiah lambasted the revenue officials who have issued false land grant certificates to a government land. He also visited the hospital, statistical department, food and civil supplies and other departments. He also received grievances from public and alerted the officials and doctors to show sincerity in their duties. OFFICER SUSPENDED;The government suspended assistant officer of horticulture at Somwarpet, Mr.D.S.Kuttappa. The suspension order comes due to negligence and dereliction of duty by Kuttappa. Kuttappa was acting as the personal secretary to former MLA Mr.Appachu Ranjan , earlier. People lodged complaint with the district in charge minister Mr.Alangur Srinivas recently in a contact programme. The minister took up the case with state horticulture ministry. |
