OPERATION ELEPHANT FROM 27TH;

The forest department has decided to chase the wild elephants from Thithimathi range in south Kodagu from this 27th.

The department has decided to take this step as the villagers living around Thithimathi kept on demanding action against elephant rampage. Death and destruction by rogue elephants had become very common at their area and people had been organizing protests and ultimatum.

The forest officials have requested the planters in the area to switch off the solar fencing and flatten the fences to allow easy access to elephants and officials during the operation to move around.
