PRASAD BIDDAPPAS ENQUIRY ON;

Fashion designer Prasad Biddappa caught with Marijuana in Dubai is undergoing enquiry. A Dubai based news service, Gulf news .com says that he is lodged in Rashidya police station.

The news sevice reported that it spoke to his wife and asked whether she is aware that he smokes marijuana. His wife Judy said that he smokes once or twice in a week. However he never intended to carry it to UAE and he is now kicking to have forgotton to clean the bag before he flew.

Meanwhile, Indian Consul General Yash Sinha told Gulf News that the consulate has provided him with consular access. Our officials met him. We are providing assistance that is possible within the framework of the law, he has said.


EARTH QUAKE REPORT SENT TO PUNE;

The earth quake report which rocked Somwarpet on Saturday is being sent to Pune for further study.

The deputy commissioner Mr.Subodh Yadav told this correspondent that the report has to be sent to Pune research station to ascertain the actual cause for the quake.

Kodagu is considered as the fourth safest place in the country, which cannot be harmed by quake, as per the earlier presumptions.

The seismography center at Harangi reservoir has registered the impact of the quake as little below three Richter. People ran helter skelter on Saturday at Somwarpet taluk around 7.03 P.M. as the earth shook with a blasting sound.

CENTRE SANCTIONS NINE CRORE FOR TRIBES DEVELOPMENT;

The center has sanctioned rupees nine crores for the development of tribes in the district.

As per the information, fifty houses are being constructed at Nanjarayapatna and Valnur Tyagathur area. Out of the total amount, rupees nine crore is sanctioned to Somwarpet taluk due to the special efforts of the local MLA Mr.B.A.Jeevijaya.

The project will include providing drinking water, road and other basic facilities.
