ROTARY CENTENARY CLOCK INAUGURATED

Rotary centenary clock was inaugurated opposite Madikeri Post office by Titan Industries-watches COO Mr. Bijou Kurien.

The Clock is sponsored by Titan Industries, Bangalore in commemoration of Rotary centenary celebrations. The cost of the clock is Rs. 6 lakhs. varieties of birds’ voices can be heard per every hour.

Madikeri Rotary Club president Mr. Sharavanan, Secretary Mr.Medappa, Rotary Misti Hills President Mr. B.G.Ananathashayana,K.P.Vishwas, Suresh Chengappa, K.P.Balasubramanya, Dr. Patkar and others were present.

ADMINSTRATORS FOR SEVEN TEMPLES

Administrators have been appointed for the seven historical and Mujrai controlled seven temples in Kodagu and he recommendations are sent in this regard for final approval from the Govt. This was disclosed by Mr. Subodh Yadav, the Kodagu Deputy Commissioner.

After he visited Thalacauvery-Bhagamandala, Padi, Palur temples he informed this to the press. The Assistant commissioner has been appointed for Thalacauvery and Bhagamandala piligrim centres,Madikeri Thaluk Thahasildar has been entrusted to administer the historical Shri Omkareshwara temple At Madikeri and also Padi Shri Igguthappa temple near Napoklu.

Virajpet thaluk Thahasildar has been appointed to look after the administration of Irpu Shri Rameshwara temple near Shrimangala, where the famous “Lakshmana Thirtha” river flows. The historical tombs of Kings at “Gadduge” , Madikeri - will be looked after by the Assistant Commissioner. More than one crore is available for the renovation and development works of these temples and will be utilized in future after the proper approval from the Govt. –Mr. Subodh Yadava explained.
