ZILLA PANCHATATH APPROVES 17.78 CRORE ACTION PLAN;

The Zilla Panchayath has accepted an action plan of 17.78 crores for the coming financial year.

However, pandemonium broke before accepting the plan as members alleged that it was prepared without consulting them.

The president Chitra Ramesh came in for attack from MLC Arun Machaiah, vice president Mr.Papu Sannaiah and others as soon as she presented the plan. Members Mrs.K.P.Chandrakala and others thwarted the CEO Mr.Sundar Naik who tried to support the president.

The meeting decided to go through the plan again in the next common meeting in detail.

The meeting also decided to investigate the allegation of misappropriation alleged to have taken place in education department.

COW SMUGGLING STALLED;

Siddapur police have arrested 6 persons transporting cows illegally to Kerala and seized a lorry.

Six persons were transporting 11 cows in a lorry in a haphazard way and were caught near Nellihudikeri. The lorry was covered with tarpauline and plywood to avoid the sight of cows.

Police said that there is a huge net work working behind the transportation of cows to Kerala.
