LIFER FOR MURDER;

A father who brutally murdered his siblings was pronounced life imprisonment by the district session’s judge here.

One Korana Ravi of Halligattu village near Ponnampet mercilessly chopped the heads of his two daughters during daylight and attempted to kill his wife on 9.10.2000.

According to the allegation he tried to kill his wife inside the house over a brawl. As she ran out of the house with injuries and fell on the ground, Ravi butchered to death his 1.5 year old baby Monica and 3 year old baby Vrinda.

Neighbors had rounded up Ravi soon after the incident and tied him to a tree before calling police.

DC PULLS OFFICIALS FROM SLUMBER;

The Deputy commissioner Mr.Subhod Yadav is pulling the officials from slumber, soon after his appointment as DC to Kodagu.

While he cautioned the slow and tardy working officials of strict action at Madikeri and Virajpet, he took to task erring officials at Somwarpet yesterday.

Presiding over the taluk review meeting he took to task the officials who came unprepared and were struggling for answers. He cautioned the departments, which ignore peoples appeals and requests. He also instructed officials to make day-to-day review of the essential services and bisi oota programmes on proiority.

Tahasildar and few officials told DC about the shortage of staff in their departments. DC assured to look into their woes.
