TIGER MENACE HAUNTS VILLAGERS;Choorikad village near Nagarahole National park is haunted by tiger menace. The villagers here complain that a tiger is killing their livestock continuously. The tiger killed a cow belonging to one Kotrangada Pemmaiah on the night of 5th. The villagers had a shock of their life as it appeared next day in daylight and attacked a cow inside the estate of Mukkatira Babu Chengappa. They lodged a complaint with the Nagarahole range forest officer who visited the spot with a veterinary doctor. It was confirmed that the cow was killed by a tiger. Again a buffalo belonging to Bacharaniyanda Ramu was killed by the tiger yesterday night. The villagers state that sense of fear grips them after three attacks and they are afraid to send their children to school. A request is made to the officials protect them take action to shift the tiger which might attack humans next. DIES OF SNAKE BITE;An eight-year-old girl died and her mother is fighting for life after a snake bit both of them at Irritty in Kerala. Chandini, 8, a student of Santa Annamma School at Virajpet had been to Irritty along with her mother. A snake bit her along with her mother at the backyard of their relative’s house. Chandini died in the hospital yesterday while her mother is in a serious condition in the hospital at irritty. ARRACK MANUFACTURING UNIT RAIDED;District crime branch has raided an arrack-manufacturing unit, illegally producing illicit liquor at V.Badaga village yesterday. Arresting two persons in this regard, police seized a machine, maruthi omni, fake government seals and documents. A case is registerd against Prakash, Rannu, Santosh and Thammaiah. |
