WATER FROM DRAINAGE OR CAUVERY?

The tourists who throng Madikeri return with a bottle of teertham! They think that it is Cauvery. But, can they find Cauvery waters at Madikeri?

Definetly not. They think Abbe waterfalls get water from Caucery.

The CMC councilor Mrs.Monti Ganesh has a bitter story to tell about the so called Teertham. She says that the water colourfullyu falling down from the Rock Mountains of Abbe contains sewage from Madikeri. Few hotels directly leave their dirt to this water. The tourists, unaware of this fact collect this water as theertham return home!

Monti Ganesh told this fact yesterday while commissioning cleaning work of main sewage stream from Madikeri that joins the water of Abbe falls.

Nagarika Vedike and town Chamber of commerce to0ok up cleaning work which was pending since years. MLA Mr.K.G.Bopaiah distributed gum boots and hand gloves to workers to mark the start of the work. This drainage runs for kilometers from inside the town before joining abbe falls water.

Vediker president Mr.K.S.devaiah, CoC town president Mr.Mehroz Khan and others were present.

BEATEN TO DEATH;

An estate labourer Sidda, 52 was yesterday done to death by a person on enmity.

According to police, a police sheeter Ganesh, 32 beat Sidda to death withy a bamboo stick at Kammatahalli at Somwarpet taluk.

Both of them had quarreled on earlier occasions and enmity could be the reason for murder, they suspect.

The bamboo made a hole through the ears of Sidda who died on the spot. He leaves three children and wife.
