SCHOLARS VIEW BILIGERI AREA AS UNSAFE;

The Phd scholars from TATA institute of Science and Technology consider living in Biligeri where earth has developed cracks is unsafe.

Scholars Mr.Ambazagan and Mr.Mahesh from the bove institute today visited the place and took stock of the situation.

Stating that it is too premature to predict the cause of the crack as either as earth quake or land slide. However they advised those who live in the area not to risk their life by staying put. They opined that heavy rainfall, more than six inches a day could have caused rocks underneath to move or crack, resulting in cracks on the outer surface of the earth. They stated that the earth will be weak even after rain subsides.

Regular watch on the development is a must, they felt. Asked about the future action, they stated that their Professor Dr.T.G.Seetharam will decide about it, after observing their report.

The families which have built nice houses in the area and living in their ancestral property went emotional with this correspondent and questioned, where shal we go from here and where shal we stay. They appealed to the district administration to come to their rescue. They also regretted that the Deputy commissioner did not visit the area, though a major slide might destroy the village below.
