“VINI VINK” HAS CASUALTIES IN KODAGU TOO!

The Vinivinc souharda credit co-operative bank Bangalore, cheating several investors all over the state has also held customers fro Kodagu in its tentacles and choked many.

A retired tax officer and many others here have invested money in lakhs in the above society, which is now facing fraud charges. The picture attached with this write up is a passbook belonging to a customer of VINIVINC. It marks the interest amount being credited to his account by the above society. The customers were fascinated to receive up to 30% interest to their deposits, which carries no guarantee.

Retired tax officer Mr.Ganapathy who was instrumental in introducing this society here told this correspondent that people are over reacting and the man behind the scene, Mr.K.N.Srinivas Shastry will return the amount collected from the people.

Over 800 people have lodged complaint with the police of cheating by the above ferm. Mr.Shastri is still at large.

PEOPLE PLANT PLANTAIN PLANTS ON ROAD;

People of Hudikeri planted plantain saplings in protest against bad roads at Hudikeri and blocked traffic.

Large number of people under the leadership of Nagarika Horata Samithi gathered in the main road and blocked traffic for two hours, yesterday. They shouted slogans against the PWD, which is responsible for the bad roads in South kodagu and planted plantain saplings in the deep pits on roads.

The protestors took to task the PWD executive engineer Mr.Basappa who visited the spot and spoke to the protestors. They demanded to black list the contractors responsible for the inferior work and also to initiate action against the officials who were supposed to supervise the road repair. They suspected misappropriation in the work in many spots and demanded enquiry. Horata samithy president Mr.M.T.Cariappa and others spoke on the occasion.

COMPLAINT TO HUMAN RIGHTS;

Advocate from Virajpet, Mr.Hemchandra has lodged a complaint to the Human Rights Commission to enquire the death of an under trial Ms.Geetha, who has left a month old baby in the prison.

In a letter sent to the local superintendent of police and the deputy commissioner, he has accused the jail authorities of committing crime by sending her from Bangalore to Madikeri even though she was mentally retarded and was also carrying an infant.

Twenty six year old Githa was in Bangalore prison facing an attempt to murder charge. She had allegedly stabbed a person at Heggala village in Kodagu, way back in 1999.She was not arrested, as she became a lunatic and was hospitalized. However, she was arrested after few years and was put in Madikeri prison. She became pregnant inside the cell and the jail authorities hid the fact. She was sent to Bangalore prison where she gave birth to a child.

She was sent back here ten days ago, as she had to appear before the court. She committed suicide on Sunday the 17th, as she had to appear before the court, yesterday. Mystery of her becoming the mother ended with her death. However, she died under a mysterious circumstance inside the cell from a very low roof.

Mr.Hemachandra has now sought an enquiry and requested the Human rights Commission to punish the guilty.
