“ SACCHINTANA” PROGRAMME INSIDE PRISON;Rotary misty hills, madikeri held a novel programme yesterday inside the prison for about an hour. Swamy Jagadatmananda of Ramakrishna Ashram, Ponnampet delivered discourse with bhajans. He called upon the jail inmates to resolve that they will lead a new life by renouncing negative thoughts. He stated that good days are always there for every one and we have to accept punishments with courage and sincerity. God who can even hear the sound of footsteps of an ant will definitely hear our prayers, he said. President of the Rotary Misty hills, mr.B.G.Anantha Shayana stated that the club, by holding such a meeting inside the prison wanted to prove that the society does not consider prisoners as untouchables. Stating that Lord Krishna was born inside the prison, Aurobindo received realization inside the prison, he opined that even a prison can be turned into Divine. Jail superintendent Mr. Patil and secretary mr.Gopala Krishna were present. Sampath Kumar proposed vote of thanks. CENTRAL PROJECTS IGNORED; MP SADANANDMember of the Parliament, Mr.Sadananda Gowda alleged that the district administration has failed to implement Central projects effectively. Addressing the first vigilance and monitoring committee meeting here yesterday, Mr.Gowda took to task the officials and shouted that they are ignoring the central projects. He said that only 35% progress was achieved in implementation of projects during last fiscal. Meanwhile uproarious scenes were noticed as MLA Mr.K.G.Bopaiah and former MLA mr.Appachu ranjan took strong objections to the absence of the deputy Commissioner mr.Subodh yadav in the meeting. They verbally attacked DC as he arrived late after conducting transport authority meet. The duo doubled their voice as DC was maintaining silence. MP Sadananda Gowda interfered and brought the situation under control. Mr.K.G.Bopaiah alleged that the forest department is harassing forest dwellers who were issued land record by revenue department. He insisted on lodging complaint against such officials. Mr.gowda urged forest and revenue officials to solve the confusions immediately. Different issues were discussed and mr.Gowda directed the officials to attend with full information the next meeting. |
