ADMINISTRATOR TO ZILLA PANCHAYATH;

The chief secretary of state housing and transport department Mr.B.L.Sridhar took charge as the administrative officer of the Zilla panchayath yesterday.

Addressing the officials at old assembly hall, he called upon them to deliver sincere and efficient service to people.

Mr.Sridhar was visibly annoyed as few officials failed to produce statistics about their works. He however told them that they should be well informed and should know where they stand. He was seen taking down dates on which the officials promised to produce records. He also took details of the CMC, which is also functioning under the administrator.

Deputy commissioner Mr.Subodh Yadav and CEO Sundar naik were present.

PEPPER STOLEN;

Pepper worth rupees one lakh was stolen from a shop at Napoklu by breaking the door.

According to police, culprits broke into the shop of one P.M.Abdul Rehaman and made away with 45 bags of Pepper valued at rupees one lakh. Investigation is on.

THIS LADY HAS NO ROOF TO STAY;

While the governments spread statistics and politicians cry hoarse about providing housing to all, here is a lady-aged ninety with no house to stay and no roof to rest.

She is Yellamma, from Guddehosur, aged ninety .She had been living under a bus shelter for the last several years. Journalists had made special stories and appealed to district administration to help her. The appeals hit the deaf ears.

Now due to heavy rainfall and fierce winds the roof of the bus shelter has collapsed and yellamma is turned homeless. While even the nature has turned against her, can any organizations likeStree shakthi , Lions or rotary come farward to do something to help her and provide shelter?


24 FARMERS END LIFE IN TWO YEARS IN KODAGU;

About 24 farmers ended life due to the burden of loan in Kodagu since two years, according to agriculture minister.

The minister’s answer came up at sessions to a question raised by local MLA Mr.K.G.Bopaiah.

He also stated that about fourteen families were given compensation and few were found fake claims.

Answering one more question, the tourism minister Mr.jaykumar disclosed that Kodagu is given 14.45 crores for the development of Tourism. He gave break up of money sanctioned and said that the works are in progress at several tourism spots in Kodagu.
