HEAVY RAIN DURING NIGHT

Madikeri, the capitol city of Kodagu has the maximum rate of rainfall since three days especially during night hours. Comparatively all other places in Kodagu watch a normal weather conditions. Even, dry weather could b e seen in Somawarpet.

The Chilly weather has tampered the normal life in Madikeri. The fungus affects the charmful cloths, foot wears. The leakage problems in terrace houses, the forming of fungus on the walls are the common phenomenon, which the civilians face every year.

The people arrive from other parts to Madikeri are astonished to get the heavy rain experience in Madikeri, which is missing in their places.

The rain usually increases during night times in Madikeri. The down pouring with a roaring noise during midnight onwards create an unusual fear in the minds of the local residents.

A house is collapsed due to heavy rain in Thyagaraja Colony, Madikeri. The road abuttings slided in some places. The average rainfall yesterday recorded 1 inch in Kodagu. However, Madikeri town observed 3 inches of rainfall with heavy pouring.

The river Cauvery catchment area:Bhagamandala observed increase in rainfall compared to last year although the rain started late during this year. Last year it was 86 inches for Bhagamandala and this year it has crossed total 93 inches.

Madikeri Thaluk got 48 inches this year; last year it was 456 inches till date Somwarpet thaluk shows a record of 28 inches this year. Last year it was 37 inches. Virajpet thaluk got a rainfall of 38 inches and last year it was 48 inches..

The Harangi reservoir is just short of 17 feet for complete filling up.

BROTHER MURDERED

Madikeri July 11 An incident of an elder brother murdering his younger one has been reported from Nidugumba village in South Kodagu.

Elder brother Mani murdered his younger brother Dali. The accused Mani was arriving home with heavily drunken every day. He was creating nuisance to the family members. Even his children were opposing his attitude. Yesterday night Dali had objected the way of ill-treating the family members. The drunken Mani in devastation mood brought a sickle and attacked Dali who got deadly injuries on the face. He was succumbed to injuries. Ponnampet police Inspector Bosaiah has arrested the accused and registered a case,
