KILLED IN ACCIDENT;

A painter by Profession, P.N.Santosh Kumar was killed in a hit and run case reported at night day before yesterday.

According police, an over speeding car hit Santosh walking in Rajas seat road. He died on the spot.

However, though the incident took place around 8 p.m., the police arrived at the spot only after two hours, the people complained.

Arriving at the spot, the newly appointed DySP Mr.Alesh Naik took to task the traffic sub inspector Mr.Chandraih for his negligence.

The car that had escaped after the incident is now seized at Kushalnagar. The driver Harish was arrested and sent to judicial custody.

COFFEE BOARD TO IMPROVE INTERNAL MARKET;

The coffee board will strive to improve internal market, said chairman Mr.Krishna Rao.

Addressing the annual meeting of Kodagu Planters association yesterday evening, Mr.Krishna Rao said that the internal market for coffee would be improved in the line of other products, which gained sufficient market support.

Continuing he said that arrangements are being made to sell coffee with a branded name in the international market. He told the planters that the stem borer problem being faced by the planters should be tackled by them, not depending upon the board. He disclosed that the board is thinking of buying the borer stems, instead of buying the stem borers, which was in practice, so far.

Chairman of the Karnataka Planters association Mr.nagappan and others spoke on the occasion. CPA chairman Mr.nanaiah welcomed the gathering. Vice president Mr.Ganapathy proposed vote of thanks.
