Any public grievances will be heard and will be immediately acted. The separate phone No. 22011 is provided to hear the grievances. The state Govt. has commenced the helping Voice services in 57 centres in the state. Madikeri is one among them. The project has been sponsored under the Clean City programme. The computer is feeded with the complete details of the town including the historical events, population figures, details about town properties, water supply, budget etc;photos of the public representatives also includes. For the tourists, the information about tourism centres and also the important surrounding places in Kodagu district are available. The grievances, complaints will be registered and the received number will be given to the civilians. The response to the complaints could be seen through the available website, it is learnt. The centre will work for 24 hours and throughout the year without gap of any holidays, it is said. CONGRESS GOT THE NEEDED TO CAPTURE KODAGU Z.P.Madikeri Dec.31 The Kodagu Z+-Zilla Panchayath president post could be captured by any of the general candidate. The Govt. has announced the reservation. The president post is meant for the general category and he vice president post is reserved for the BCMA lady candidate. In the meantime, with the green signal from the high command, Mrs. Veena Achaiah, the Kodagu District Congress president had disused and convinced the only impendent candidate H.S.Ashok who won from the Hebbale constituency to support the congress rule in Kodagu. The congress has already bagged 14 out of 29 seats in Kodagu Zilla Panchayath,.To capture the administration it needs just a single seat which is now cleared. In the state level, the congress has decided to adjust with the JDS. But, In Kodagu Zilla Panchayath although the JDS has won 4 seats, the congress is not interested to take the JDS help. An independent candidate has become important person now. However, during the previous talks, the District Congress President had assured the independent candidate Ashok to take the responsibility of vice Presidentship. Now it is out of question as the Govt., has announced the post is reserved for BCMA lady candidate. The final decision regarding the adjustments and the suitable candidate for the president post would be taken during a district level meeting of the winning and loosing candidates on the 5th of January at Madikeri according to the version of Mrs. Veena Achaiah, the district congress president. Another surprising development is that although the BJP did not succeeded in getting majority of seats in Virtajpet Thaluk Panchayath, the party candidate is by mere chance of luck is getting the president post. In the Virajpet thaluk Panchayath, the BJP has got 8 seats out of 19 seats. The Congress has bagged 9 seatsand it is just one seat more than the BJP and the JDS has satisfied with the 2 seats. The Govt, has sent a circular about the reservation to the Thaluk Panchayaths. The Virajpet thaluk Panchayath presidentship is reserved for the scheduled tribe lady. Only scheduled tribe lady won in the elections is H.R.Rani from Maldare from BJP. She is the luckiest to get this opportunity without her party getting majority in the polls. While talking to scribes she told she is happy with this and she will give priority for providing shelter to the poor, completing the drinking water schemes in the villages, providing electricity, distributing the PDS cards etc; |
