KILLS CHILDREN, COMMITS SUICIDE;

In a gruesome incident, a young mother killed her two children and committed suicide yesterday at Heravanadu village near here.

According to police, Shanthi, 21 hung her four-month baby Ankush and two year child Chinthu to the roof of the house and killed them. Later she hung herself with a nylon rope and ended life.

Disgust with life as her husband died committing suicide six months ago is said to be the reason for this incident. Shanthi became penniless after his death and went to live with her mother, who was also depending on her father. Verbal abuse by her mother in law was also the reason, which hurt her, she said in her suicide note. However she has said that no one is responsible for her death. I do not want my children also to suffer like me, she has said.

Circle inspector Sundar raj, SI Harischandra and team conducted the mahazar.

30 LAKH RELEASED FOR RAIN DAMAGE;

The Deputy Commissioner Subodh yadav told here that rupees thirty lakh is released to City Municipal Council from Rain Damage Fund.

Councillors Abdul Razak and B.A.Ramaiah told here that the money was released to attend to the immediate repair works . The Dc has instructed CMC to finish the work by January end.

BSNL EMPLOYEES STAGE PROTEST;

Employees of BSNl and other telecom related organizations statged a protest here yesterday against the privatization move.

The protestors alleged that the officials are not implementing the broadband service even though the infrastructures are available, not replacing the rusting equipments and others. They have also objected to the workers being brought on contract basis.

Protests were also staged at Somwarpet, Kushalnagar and Virajpet.
