GOVERNMENT WILL COLLAPSE; BANGARAPPAMadikeri December 12, 2005 The state government, which is spending most of its time in infighting, will collapse. People are not at all benefited by the coalition government in the state, asserted former Chief Minister S.Bangarappa. Bangarappa was addressing a public meeting at Sunticoppa near here yesterday evening as a part of election campaigning. He told his partymen that the present government has not continued many people friendly projects he had initiated like gramina Kripanka and free education. This government has no moral standing to continue in power he opined. State Samajwadi party secretary Srinivas Gowda, district president Ben Ganapathy and others were present. RAJESH GUNDU RAO JOINS JDS;Son of former chief minister, late Gundu Rao, rajesh Gundu Rao will join JDs in a conference to be held at Bangalore on this 17th. Announcing this in a press conference, former MLA D.S.Madappa told here that JDs is growing stronger with the entry of leaders like Rajesh Gundu Rao and MLC Arun Machaiah. JDs state secretary adi Sheshaiah, rajesh Gundu rao and others addressed the press conference and alleged that the present representatives of the people have ignored the interest of people and failed to provide basic facilities at Kodagu. SHOP GUTTED;A shopping complex catching fire at kushalnagar incurred a loss of lakhs of rupees, yesterday. While Manmohan Bhandar at Fatima complex was gutted in the accidental fire, other two shops adjacent to it also incurred loss. People went frenzy, as the fire brigade was late to arrive and beat a constable in protest. Constable Mohammed Ali was shifted to hospital with minor injuries caused from the attack. Case is registered against three persons. The KPTCL officials have denied short circuit as the cause for the fire. Fire was put off after two hours fighting by the fire brigade, police and public. |
