SADANANDA GOWDA HOSPITALISED;Member of the Parliament, M.Sadananda Gowda is hospitalized. Mr.Gowda who was suffering from liver linked disease earlier had undergone treatment for a long time and had recovered. However, sources now said that he is admitted at KMC hospital mangalore and would be shifted to Mumbai, if any surgery is required. DO NOT JUST SEEK, WORK FOR GRACE;Head of the OPrajapita brahmakumari centre at Mount Abu, Rajayogini Janaki called upon the people to work for the grace of God and do not just ask for it. Inaugurating a building to house their centre here yesterday, she said that it is important to consider each one as belonging to God to establish peace and harmony in the society. Addressing a public meeting after the inauguration, she said that their centre is trying to spread the light of knowledge in grass route level in towns and villges. Light of knowledge will lighten the burdens of life, she said. SUNTICOPPA HAS LITTLE NUMBER OF VOTES;Sunticoppa has little number of votes in Somwarpet taluk, while Kodlipet has the highest, for Zilla panchayath election. While Sounticoppa has 9380 voters, Kodlipet has 16,706. Somwarpet has about 1,31,922 total votes from rural area for the taluk and Zilla Panchayath elections. For taluk panchayath election Sunticoppa constituency has the highest number of votes, i.e. 8639.Whereas Kudige has the least 5348 votes. While the election heat is on all over the district, Kushlnagar town wears a deserted look with all its political leaders migrating to adjacent places for canvassing. Administrator was appointed to the Kushalnagar gram Panchayath as soon as it was upgraded to the level of Town panchayath, five years ago. No election was held in the town since then. Assurances and attempts by the political leaders to fix elections all went in vain. Residents of Kushalnagar allege that the administrator is undertaking no development and the town has innumerable problems to be addressed. Properties belonging to the Panchayth are also being encroached and claimed by vested interests. VETERAN FROM KODAGU DIES IN MUMBAI ACCIDENT;A veteran from Kodagu, settled in Mumbai, Pattamada Appaiah, 84 died in a road accident yesterday in Mumbai. According to his family sources, a car hit Appaiah as he was walking on the roadside in the morning. He leaves wife and two children. |
