RARE CURRENCY AND COINS ON SHOW;

Rare coins and currency, some of them 2500 year old are on show at madikeri.

P.K.Keshava Murthy of Hunsur has kept his collection, which include gold, silver and brass coins too. The collection also includes currency of 5th century ‘panch mark’ coin, coins belonging to Greek, Roman, Kushan and Gupta time.

Keshava Murthy told this correspondent that this is his 99th exhibition. A book tittled ‘Naanya Darshini” would be released at Mysore on this 9th during his 100th exhibition, he disclosed.

The collection has coins with hole, notes printed erroneously etc.


NESTLE CUP KICK STARTS;

Nestle Kodagu cup 2005 is enthralling the sports lovers since yesterday.

The inaugural match was played at Gonicoppal between Ammathi Sports club and Gonicoppa BBC teams. BBC team thwarted the winning attempts of Ammathi team by 6 – 4 in the tie breaker.

Kodagu Hockey Association and Skanda Coffee have jointly organized the Nestle sponsored hockey. KHA president Mohan Aiyappa inaugurated the tournament.

Maneyapanda Pratap Chittiappa and other dignitaries were present.
