HOMA THERAPY FOR PROSPERITY;The ancient practice of “ Agnihotra Homa” Therapy, dating back to Vedic culture will enhance health, wealth and prosperity, according to Mr.Vasantha Paranjape, living in South America. Vasantha Paranjape, an expert in ‘Homa’ therapy was explaining the benefits of this practice to agriculturists in an estate at Sunticoppa near Madikeri recently. Talking to a section of the press he stated that conducting ‘Homa’ in an agriculture land increases produce, cleans the environment and strengthens the soil. The therapy includes making fire with the use of ghee, rice and other cereals. Paranjape states that the ash produced from ‘Homa’ can heal all kinds of diseases including cancer. Whereas it also helps a person in Spiritual gain, he says. Mr.Vasantha Paranjape told that the’ Homa’ therapy is being practiced in three estates in Kodagu where only organic manure is being used. Crop yields in these estates are also substantially high. He urged the scientists to conduct a survey and do the research to find the befits of ‘Homa’ scientifically. According to him, agriculturists in peru , Germany and South America are greatly benefited by this method and are practicing it. Agnihothra at Peru Vasantha Paranjape with the Sunticoppa (Kodagu) residents AUTO DRIVER DIES IN ACCIDENT;Sabu Kaverappa, 48, died on the spot as the autorikshaw he was driving was hit by a bus, yesterday evening at Makkandur near Madikeri. A private bus bashed against the auto in a curve and the driver was thrown out. He died on the spot, hit by a stone. Though four others including the drivers were present in the vehicle, they escaped unhurt. The driver was arrested. FIGHTING INSIDE THE PRISON;Two prisoners went fisticuffs at Madikeri prison yesterday with one landing in hospital. According to police a murder accused Pravin attacked another under trial Manoj Kumar with a scissor and injured him on face and eyes. The fight broke out as Pravin found out that he would be deported to prison in Mysore for his misconduct. He suspected the hands of Manoj in his transfer and attacked him. While Manoj is sent to hospital, Pravin was deported to Mysore yesterday. The prisoner Manoj Kumar JUMPS TO DEATH AT SEVENTY;K.S.Chandrappa aged seventy jumped to death in a river at Shanivarsanthe. Deceased, father of a former Taluk Panchayath member has said that he is going to his daughter’s house and committed suicide for an unknown reason. He had left a bag on the banks of river, which was inscribed, “ do not touch. This bag belongs to police”. Though the bag contained letters and documents, the details are yet to be available. LIBRARY INAUGURATED;A library was inaugurated at the Kodagu Brahmins Association office at Madikeri yesterday. Advocate Mr.Shivaprasadh inaugurated the late C.R.Narayan Rao library by lighting the lamp and called upon the members to make use of it. Mr.G.Rajendra delivered lecture on the importance of the books and the life of Yogi SreeRaghavendra Swamy. Mr.G.T.Divakar spoke on the occasion. Secretary Mr.Gopala Krishna welcomed the gathering.
