RS. 55 LAKH FOR COLLEGE DEVELOPMENTThe Napoklu Govt. College will be developed with the help of Hudco scheme. The hudco will release Rs. 55 lakh for various works in the college-disclosed K.G.Bopiah, M.L.A; Madikeri constituency. The construction of toilets, arrangement of drinking water schemes are entrusted to Land Army- he confirmed. The concerned officers have misutilised the fund released to the Govt. College. They have utilized this fund for the development of approach road to the Govt. Junir college- he criticized. He was responding to the recent protest by the college students and also the ‘Cauvery Sene’ orgonisation demanding to provide infrastructurural facilities. He critisised the ‘Cauvery Sene’ for entering the college premises and creating unnecessary tension by provocating the students. He doubted the bad intention behind this. PROBLEMS FACING VIRAJPET THALUKThe misuse of the power by the officials at Virajpet thaluk has awokened the agitative mood in the local people.At Mythadi village , the lifrting of silt scheme is completely failed. Earlier, the Kodagu Zilla Panchayath had sanctioned Rs. 1.25 lakh for the purpose. The complete payment is shown to the contractor. However, even a drop of water could not be stored in the repaied Pond. The whole scheme is thrownto air. The residents demand the repair of the pond and also to take action against the involved persons, including the concerned officials. In another complaint received by the public, the food officials in Virajpet thaluk are involved in providing additional materials to the Public Distribution System (PDS) shops in the thaluk. All these extra materials are being sold in the black market providing illegal income to the officials and others.. Kerosene is not at all scene in the PDS shops. Maximum quantity of kerosene is being distributed in the open market for higher price, The Gonikoppal Police have already booked several cases and some accused were sent to prison. The civilians complaint that the Kerosene is being illegallyy transported to Kerala state also.. Basavaraju, the Virajpet M.L.SA has urged action against the thaluk Shirasthedar and others. The Deputy Commissioner should transfer such officers from the thaluk – he demanded., In the thaluk according to another information available, a leading timber merchant has constructed a wood cutting Mill unit at the unauthorized place near temple forest grove area at kadanur village. With the help of the Virajpet forest officials he is striving hard to get permission by transferring an existing permission at the mill situated at Ammathi. The local people including the temple administrative Board, the ‘Cauvery Sene’ Orgonisation and the B.J.P oppose the grant of permission in this area. If the officials permit the mill, the agitation is the only way to protest the move- said Kambeyanda Ganesh, the Virajpet Thaluk BJP Secretary.in a press release here.. |
