SRINIVAS THANKS CHIEF MINISTER

The district in charge minister Mr.Alangur Srinivas thanked the chief minister on behalf of people pf Kodagu for releasing five crores to rain relief.

The minister was addressing the gathering after hoisting tricolor in the historical Fort of Madikeri. His appreciation to the Chief Minister came as the fund was released after Mr.Srinivas submitted resignation in protest.

The minister called upon the district administration to implement the government schemes and projects without delay and assured all co operation from the government. He recalled the service rendered by people of Kodagu in army, sports and other fields. Minister felicitated people excelled in different fields.

MLC Mr.Arun machaiah, freedom fighter Mr.M.U.Auchanna, Deputy Commissioner Mr.Subodh yadav, Ceo Mr.Sundar Naik and others were present.

Colourful march past with police, NCC, scouts and guides added dignity to the function. Entertainment programme added colour.


NANAIAH HONOURED AS ROTARIAN;

The Rotary Misty Hills, Madikeri has awarded a honorary membership of Rotary to the former minister Mr.M.C.Nanaiah.

This was announced by the president Mr.B.G.Anantha Shayana in a glittering charter presentation function held here. Mr.M.C.nanaiah spoke on the occasion and laid emphasis on selfless service and importance of maintaining environment clean and green.

Rotary Governor mr.Lakshminarayan from Mysore presented the Charter to B.G.Anantha Shayana. He appreciated the efforts of the club which has started with 63 members breaking the previous records.

Mr.A.S.N.Hebbar from Kundapur distributed blankets to the inmates of an Ashram which houses orphans and single parent children. Mrs.Kumari devaiah released the Roaster. Mr.M.C.Nanaiah released the Bulletin. Mr.Sharavanan launched the website of the club, www.geocities.com/rotarymistyhills. Secretary Mr. Gopal Krishna read the report. Rotary president Mr.Madhu medappa welcomed the gathering.

RS.1.4 LAKH TO MAINTAIN ONE ELEPHANT EACH YEAR!

According to forest officials at Dubare near Kushalnagar, they require rupees 1.4 lakh to maintain one elephant each year.

The fourteen tamed elephants housed in Dubare require more than a crore each year!

They do the job of taking tourists around for safari, pull the timber and tame the untamed occasionally. Seven mahuts and a band of staff including cooks look after the elephants.

While the herd has three four year old calves, the eldest of all is Lakshmi aged 81!

FIGHT UNDER PEOPLE FOR INDIA FORUM;

The life Insurance Union will fight for the cause of public in national level under the banner of ‘People for India Forum’.

Announcing this in the divisional conference of LIC Union, All India secretary Mr.Venugopal said that the union is unshackling itself from the only fight for their benefit and would address the general problems of public and students.

He was speaking after inaugurating the conference. He said that they will address the problems of employees, women, students, senior citizens etc and will announce the schemes in a mammoth rally planned for September 29th.

Mr.venugopal alleged that foreign investments in Insurance companies will destabilize security .

In his guest speech mr.M.C.Nanaiah told that the political parties are using working classes and they should come out of their grips. Appreciating the Life insurance Company for its strong base, mr.Nanaiah regretted that the government has done nothing to revive the giant organizations and industries which went sick in the country.

MLA Mr.K.G.Bopaiah also addressed the gathering.

Mr.G.Chidvilas, sandhya Chidvilas, Kumarswamy and team entertained the gathering with their music programme.
