CONGRESS BAGS KUSHALNAGAR APMC;

Congress has snatched the posts of president and vice president of the APMC, Kushalnagar in the election held yesterday.

B.M.Lava of Koothi and H.C.Ganesh of Shirangala emerged victorious as president and vice president. Mr.lava won against the BJP candidate Mr.Ponnappa with 9 – 6 .

Mr.ganesh also won with 9 – 6 against the JDS candidate Mr.Kalaiah.

The newly elected president and vice president spoke to the scribes after election and said that their first aim is to clear the APMC from debt. They disclosed that the society owes around rupees 37 lakhs.

MLA THREATENS TO PICKET CMS HOUSE;

Local MLA Mr.K.G.Bopaiah has warned that he would picket the house of the Chief Minister with his supporters if the rain relief fund is not released immediately.

Addressing the scribes here, he said that the Dc has submitted a damage report claiming rupees 29 crores. If the funds are not released by month end, he would go ahead with the picketing in the first week of September.

Meanwhile, he took strong objections against the district in charge secretary Mr.Sridhar holding officers meeting at harangi yesterday. He said that the meeting should have been held at Madikeri, the district head quarters.
