DOCTOR RETURNS BRIBE, ADLR PROMISES TO RETURN;

LOKAYUKA  BOMBARDS CORRUPT PRACTITIONERS

 

Madikeri Oct. 27 Corruption has become a practice in all the offices and Govt. establishments which I visited today in Virajpet Thaluk –said Lokayuktha Mr. venkatachalaiah. Although we cannot change the whole system, the Govt.employees and officers have fear Lokayuktha - this is our achievement – he told in a press conference after his day long slogging.

 

The Vigilance commission will recommend to Govt. for the suspension of Paramashivaiah, the Virajpet Sub registrar for taking bribe from the public- Mr. Venkatachalaiah said. The present commission has no power to raid the police Stations and there is a move for establishing separate wing to tackle police department-he explained. He was addressing the press after the commission’s visit to main Govt. Establishments in Virajpet thaluk today.

 

The DYFI leader Peter Lobo and others  brought to the notice of the Commission about the bribe incidents by paramashivaiah, the Sub registrar.The amount involved ranged from Rs. 1600 to Rs. 9,000 in separate registration processes. When the allegation was made the Sub registrar accepted the accusations made by the public in front of the Loakayuktha. Mr. venkatachalaiah was annoyed to see the torn maps which are maintained by the concerned to cheat the applicants by misguiding them with improper plans in survey department.. The people also complained against SDC Puttaswamy for taking bribe.

 

In the Thaluk Thahasildars office the bribe starts from Rs. 100 to 500, people alleged.;. They targeted the Taluk thahasildar and the staff. Mr. venkatachalaiah warned D.C. to reorganize the whole administrative system and to bring order. When the commission visited the Virajpet hospital an incident of a doctor returning Rs. 50 to a handicapped person was noticed.. The handicap person complained that the doctor had demanded the money to provide him the handicap certificate. When the commission visited the Gonikoppal hospital,the patients complained about the negligent attitude of Dr. satish. Lokayuktha blasted District health officer for his negligence towards good administration in the department. Mr. venkatachalaiah also visited Land Survey office and Town Panchayath offices. Mangalore SP Malla Javaraiah, Malleshwaram SP G. Ramesh, Madikeri Division Inspector Mr. Jagadish and others accompanied Mr. venkatachalaiah.
